Sending Files

From the Contacts Tab , start by selecting one or more contacts to whom you wish to send a file. 

Then click the Send File button  , to initiate sending of a file.  The File Transfer window
will open.

In this window, 

1. click the  button to select the file(s) to send, 
2. to send the file(s) securely, click the lock / button, putting it in the locked position , and select the key to be used to secure the transfer; 
3. to send the file(s) unsecured, click the lock / button, putting it in the unlocked position .
4. click the Send button .

This window will change to the "in-progress" mode, while you wait for the first recipient to accept the transfer.

After the recipient accepts the transfer, the progress message changes to a progress bar, showing the amount of the file(s) that have been transferred.  When the file(s) are being sent securely, the progress bar is red (as shown below).  If the file(s) are being sent unsecurely, the progress bar is green.

Select File to Send	This field displays the names of the file(s) to be sent.  Select the file(s) to be sent by clicking the File Selector button.
	File Selector - click this button to open a standard file selection window.  Use the file selection window to select the file(s) to be sent.  Standard multiple selection techniques (Control and Shift keyboard keys) may be used to select multiple files.
/	To send the file(s) securely, click the lock/  button, putting it in the locked position, and select the key to be used to secure the transfer.   To send the file(s) unsecured, click the lock/ button, putting it in the unlocked position .
Key Selection	If sending the file(s) securely (), select the key to be used to secure the file transfer.  All recipients must have this key, in order to receive the file.
	Send - after selecting the file(s) to be sent, selecting secured or unsecured mode, and selecting a key (for secured mode), then click this button to begin the file transfer.
	Cancel - at any time, before or during the transfer, click this button to cancel the transfer.  The File Transfer window will immediately be closed, and the transfer will be aborted.
Sending to	This field shows the current recipient.  Since multiple contacts may have been selected to be sent the file(s), the name shown will change as the transfer to each contact is initiated.
Progress	For each recipient, this field will initially report that you are waiting for the recipient to accept the transfer.  Once they have accepted the transfer, this field will show a progress bar, indicating the amount of data that has been transferred.

When the recipient accepts the File Transfer, the file(s) are sent from your myKryptofon to theirs, privately and securely (if you selected to send the file(s) securely), with AES 256-bit encryption. 

When the transfer has completed, if you had specified more than one Contact to receive the file(s), myKryptofon will automatically begin the transfer with the next recipient.  When the key has been sent to all recipients, this window will automatically close.
