Secure Call Activation Area

To secure and encrypt a voice call, you begin by clicking on the lock  /  button.

 - Secure a call with a myKryptoKey
 - Unsecure - normal VOIP call

When the button shows it is secure , myKryptofon will encrypt the voice call or conference with the myKryptoKey chosen in the drop down list.

You also have the option to, on the fly , change the selected myKryptoKey while in a voice call or conference.  Everyone in your call will need to select the same myKryptoKey.  To do this, simply choose a different myKryptoKey from the drop down menu.  Once the parties on your call do the same, you will be encrypted with a different encryption stream.  myKryptofon manages this all with no further action on your part.

There is a 2nd location where a call can be secured.  The same graphic /  buttons appear in the Call Center / Conference Center Area.  This button will also secure a voice call or conference.

Finally, myKryptofon provides additional visual feedback as to the secured state of a voice call / conference.  When the Call Center / Conference Center border is highlighted in green, the call is connected and is in normal VOIP mode.

When the Call Center / Conference Center border is highlighted in red, the call is connected and is private and secure utilizing the selected myKryptoKey - at AES 256-bit encryption.

If you have initiated a call in secured mode, and myKryptofon detects that the call was forwarded to a different destination, then myKryptofon will automatically drop out of secured mode1.  This situation typically occurs when you call someone who does not answer and your call is forwarded to the voice mail system.  By dropping out of secured mode, myKryptofon allows you to hear the prompts from the voice mail system, and to leave an unsecured voice mail message.  myKryptofon stays unsecured until the call is ended, and will then automatically return to secured mode.

1 If the Force Secure Mode option is set to Always, then myKryptofon will not drop out of secure mode, when a call is forwarded.
