Receiving Files

When a myKryptofon user sends a File (or Files) to you, the following window will pop up.

 

 

In this window, 

  1. click the  button to select a location on your computer to save the received file(s),
  2. click the Receive button .

 

The window will change to the "in-progress" mode, while the file(s) are transferred.

 

 

If the sender elected to send the file(s) securely, the progress bar will be red.  If the sender elected to send the file(s) unsecurely, the progress bar will be green (as shown above).

 

From

This field displays the name of the person sending you the file(s).

File Name

This field displays the name of the file(s) being received.

Save the file to

This field shows the folder you selected to save the received file(s).

Folder Selector - click this button to open a standard folder selection window.  Use the folder selection window to select the folder where the received file(s) will be saved.

If you select a folder that already contains a file with the same name as a received file, you will be asked if the existing file should be replaced.  If you select to not replace the existing file, you must then select a different folder in which to save the received file(s).

After selecting a folder where the file(s) will be saved, click this button to begin receiving the file(s).

At any time, before or during the transfer, click this button to cancel the transfer.  The File Transfer window will immediately close and the transfer will be aborted.

Progress

This progress bar shows the amount of data that has been transferred.

 

The progress bar is red if the file(s) are being transferred securely, otherwise it is green.

 

During the transfer, the file(s) are sent from the sender's myKryptofon to yours, privately and
securely (if the sender selected to send the file(s) securely), with AES 256-bit
encryption.
